Pshaw, YESSSSS. You do not need to be a good artist to know how to sell your art online.

Repeat after me: I DO NOT NEED TO BE A GOOD ARTIST TO KNOW HOW TO SELL ART ONLINE

You can even be “not an artist.” Why not? Why let labels define you?

If you’ve ever been in a museum and saw a circle painted on a white canvas hanging on the wall, then you already know the answer to that question.

Honestly, nothing makes me more annoyed as an artist than seeing that. If you like that kind of highbrow stuff, then fine. But don’t tell me only “good” artists get put in museums or make money at selling art. You don’t need technique, sometimes you don’t even need talent. You need to know what you can do well, and you need to know how to sell it.

Please note that this is in no way saying the artists who created these clip art sets are untalented. On the contrary, they have enormous talent. My point is, you don’t need to be. You just have to know what you can do.

Can you draw a circle?

Can you throw paint?

Can you scribble?

Can you draw dots?

Can you doodle?

Think back to all those scribbled napkins left behind in restaurants!

Can you draw shapes?

What about stars?

Let the ink bleed out of your pen a little bit.

The answer is JUST DO IT! There is absolutely no reason you can’t make money selling art online.  There is always someone looking to buy the thing you’ve got.
